Well let me start off with an experience my 19.year old daughter and her friend had. They decided to go through the automated car wash one night only to discover that well after the soap had did its job, the hoses theirs, and the dryers had been quiet for what she says seemed like "an hour"...the bay door just wasn't willing to cooperate like its soapy, hosey, and drying compadres. Needless to say she was stuck in the bay (closed at both ends) she did what every smart 19 year old would have done and called the B.P.D. only to have the lucky officer who got that call tell them that there was nothing he could do and that her best bet would be to drive through the door..?! Luckily her friend called the next best person, her Dad, who simply inserted another 11$ into the machine which allowed the wash to believe some other sucka would be driving through. Alls well that ends well...she's safe, cars fine, bay doors fine but one would like to think that Beverly car wash would have offered her some type of compensation...I would soon learn this to be far from the truth. My son accidentally threw a baseball and it hit directly between the light fixture breaking the entire fixture and both bulbs. We fully intended on going down to speak with them in the am but were not given that opportunity as the G.P.D showed up at the address my car is registered to, my Moms. She just about stroked out. It was if we had robbed the car wash in its entirety, leaving hoseless vacumes, brushless bays, and empty bill changers. We went down and worked something out with the owners, who are very nice but do have insurance for a reason. We paid them over $250 for the fixture and as a "token" of their appreciation they gave us 5 golden "bunkys" coins and said they were awesome and would last a while in the self service bay. I tried one just last week and it lasted 4 min :(
$18 for a pricy automatic carwash & I got home to find the roof of my car still covered in grime which I was able to wipe off myself with a cloth, something that the attendant (who seemed very bored with his job) & the autowash should have dealt with much more efficiently.
